CATCHY TITLE HERE

Greg here.... Krystal writes most of these, but Im subbing in for this one.

Been really enjoying the work life balance. Had a quiet morning again this morning. Figured out how to get the coffee pot to automagically make coffee so its ready when I get up. Folgers is what was here when we arrived, Folgers it is. Normally I like to have something fun, like choc mac coffee, or maybe a hazelnut, but this week Im having Folgers. We are finding the Wifi lacking here. Its enough for working, though sluggish at times but when it comes to using VOIP Desktop Client for making or receiving calls the internet isnt good enough. Most people will tell you that you only need 1 Mbps Upload and 1 Mbps Download to sustain a voice call, however its not that simple. There is also another couple metrics to look at which is latency and jitter. To put it in simple terms, you need a road (bandwidth) that will sustain a number of cars (packets) and the cars all need to sustain a consistent speed (Latency) on the road with a consistent spacing between the cars so they all arrive on time in order without delay(Jitter). Our internet here would look like a small road with too many cars that are all braking and accelerating at different times. Looking forward to some better internet in Surprise, AZ.

I went down to the repair shop to look at the brakes on the Audi. The shop I took it to specializes in VW and Audi and apparently Bently and McLaren. I don't know I have ever seen either of these so up close. Something that occurred to me though is that I took for granted the resources I have at home. Having the ability to do it myself if I were at home knowing I could save a couple thousand in labor and parts mark-up is a har pill to swallow. The best way to rationalize the repair costs is to consider that some lessons in life are expensive and others aren't. I'm fortunate that I can say this is only one of a handful Ive had to endure, but I'm better off for it. Fun Fact, had I had the brakes done in Medford, apples for apples, Id be looking at nearly $2100 compared to $1200 here including tax. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise.

On lunch we ran down to the World Famous Gold and Silver Pawn Shop. It looks just like it does on TV but without Chumlee, Rick, or Corey. They have some really cool stuff on there though. The kids got to see some really old currency and some incredible artwork. Then we ran up to the Paiute Tribal Land. The plan was to visit one of the shops but were disappointed, they have a smoke shop and few government building. No cultural centers, craft shops, or museums. On the way back to the house we drove down Fremont Street to look at all the old hotels and hotel signs. It was like a step back in time.

This evening we went and rode the "High Roller", its the worlds tallest Ferris Wheel at 550ft tall. It holds the record by 9ft over the "Singapore Flyer". Since we are here during the Pandemic we were able to have an entire pod to ourselves. This was a an incredible experience and a must do if you are ever in Vegas. We walked out to the strip afterwards and headed towards the Venetian, this place was unreal. It has a full canal system with gondolas on the second floor of the casino. The ceiling is painted like a blue sky with the fluffiest white clouds and all the stores have storefronts that looks like you are in Venice. There were multiple musicians playing violins and violas. The kids were in awe.

Tomorrow I am hoping to drive by Counts Kustoms, maybe go in. We also have a mermaid encounter on the list for Ava, a stop by Circus Circus for Lance, and a trip to a place called 7 Magic Mountains for Krystal. At some point we will swing into the indoor Theme Park. This weekend we have some fun plans, Ill leave those a surprise for now though.

As I write this though I realize I am breaking some rules. "What Happens In Vegas Stays In Vegas" Id better wrap it up before someone breaks down the door and drags

me into the parking lot.

Heading off to bed, still getting the hang of this. Im happy to answer questions or take suggestions if there are details Im glossing over or you would like me to include.

Greg
