Got the call today that the car was repaired. Ended up with the coolant repair and the front brakes being replaced. New Rotors, pads, and sensors. Yes, this damn car is so fancy it has electronic sensors to tell the driver when the brakes need serviced, no squealers on this vehicle. They also cleared the factory service interval light. This is the light that tells you to go to the dealership to get a bunch of unnecessary work done such as lube your door hinges and seat belt receivers as well as have the mechanic make sure your hood lift supports are working as well as all your steering wheel buttons. The EGR Valve was pretty carboned up so Im likely going to see an increase in performance as well as fuel economy. We get around 25mpg when we can keep a consistent speed in mild terrain, so Ill keep an eye on it and let you all know. I hope you never need to have car repair if you are in Vegas, but if you do, highly recommend CARSNV Complete Auto Repair Specialists. Moe who is the owner, took great care of us including providing a car to drive the whole time our car was in the shop at no charge. It was a nice car too, an Audi A6.
To catch everyone up really quick, on lunch yesterday since we are only 8 mins away from their shop we went and toured Counts Kustoms. Totally free and lots of really nice cars. Horny Mikes truck was outside but that was as close as I got to seeing a celebrity. On the way back we swung into the Wynn Casino to see their atrium that included live trees all supporting a couple hundred fresh flower hanging topiaries. There was also a carousel and a 20 ft hot air balloon made of fresh flowers. That night we went and saw the Bellagio Hotel and Water Show. This is a must do if you are in the area. Its short and runs every hour on the hour, but was quite enjoyable and the price is right... totally free. Even the parking is free. We also went to the Miracle Mile Shopping Center near Planet Hollywood Casino to see the "Rain Storm". Lets just say they need to go back to the drawing board, it was a total disappointment. Do not go do this if you are in the area. Between the Bellagio and the Miracle Mile we stopped into the Flamingo hotel to see the flamingos. We are spoiled in the sense that we had the Wildlife Safari in Winston just out our front door, so flamingos aside its still astonishing to see everything this town offers. The Flamingos and Koi fish were fun to see though and it was enjoyable, another must do, especially if you are traveling with children. I also finished the night out with some Pad Thai back at the house. Thai Spice was the name of the restaurant. They had great reviews, 400+ or so and 4.5 stars combined. It did not disappoint.
We learned yesterday that the live Mermaid Show is on hold but they are still doing Carnival Shows at Circus Circus. These are likely the activity for tonight. Friday we are going to drive out to 7 Magic Mountains to see some night sky and then Saturday we are going to the Hoover Dam and Valley of Fire State Park. Sunday we head to Surprise Arizona.
