Another boring food post. It would be so much more exciting if we were writing about restaurants but a budget is important. This adventure is a lot of fun, but we're not on vacation. This is a lifestyle change (at least for the immediate future) so it need to be financially sustainable. On a positive note: We are all feeling wonderful and our bodies are working as normal. Anyone who travels knows exactly what I'm talking about!
We pulled into Arizona yesterday afternoon and our first stop was to Fry's Food Store. I made a meal plan on the three hour drive from Vegas so we were able to get all our grocery shopping done in about an hour. Our total cost was $197.97 (not counting drinks). This makes 14 breakfasts, 14 lunches, 13 dinners, and snacks for four people. Total cost per meal came to $1.20. If we calculate an approximate cost of $15 per person when we eat out, that's a total food savings of $2,262 in Arizona. Man, food costs add up so fast! No wonder vacations are always so expensive!
Here's what we'll be eating:
Breakfast
3 days of pancakes
3 days of bagels with various toppings
2 days of cereal, milk, and fruit
2 days of french toast
2 days of eggs and toast
2 days of avocado toast and fruit

1 day of Quesadillas
3 days of PB&J and chips
1 day of bean burritos
1 day of potato pancakes and fruit
2 days of egg salad sandwich and chips
1 day of mac & cheese
2 days of ramen with veggies
1 day of BLT's and chips

Hopefully we'll try a couple desserts unique to Arizona while we're here and we'll be keeping our eyes open for a restaurant to have one dinner out before we head to our next location!
