We happen to be here during a historic weather event. It was really scary shopping for a week while listening to all the stockpile conversations around us. People buying water, seeing the bread shelves completely emptied out, finding the rows of soups sitting vacant. We stuck to our budget, didn't allow ourselves to be swept into the paranoia and got out quickly to check into our new house.

Our food costs weren't terrible here and the selection was definitely better than Texas. The frozen veggies are still much higher than what we are used to paying but we were able to find some clearance vegetables to keep our food costs down. We did grab a few extras for Valentines Day. We bought some brownie mix and the ingredients needed to make them and some pretty flowers to put in a vase. We also grabbed the kids some oreos and milk so we can all celebrate together!

We are thankful we made it here safely and we're going to hunker down and weather this storm like everyone else. It's poor timing on our part because there was so much we wanted to see and do while we were in Oklahoma but the weather is going to make that challenging. We have our fingers crossed that it passes quickly and we might be able to see some of the sights on our way to the next state.
