No not the shoe, there is a difference between alligators and crocodiles. In your lifetime you probably heard them interchangeably but once we made it to about the Louisiana area we got curious what the difference between an alligator and a crocodile was, so we looked it up. Apparently, Alligators have U-shaped faces that are wide and short, while crocodiles have slender almost V-shaped muzzles. Also, When an alligator closes its mouth, you tend to see only its upper teeth. Crocodiles on the other hand flash a toothy grin with their top and bottom teeth interlacing. So if someone ever said "I saw a crocodile in Louisiana" you can just say uh uhm and know in you head it was a alligator all along...
